Tiger Woods and wife Elin Nordegren are divorced

Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren were married six years

Tiger Woods and his wife Elin Nordegren have divorced, the couple said in a statement posted on the world number one golfer's website.
"We are sad that our marriage is over and we wish each other the very best for the future," the couple said. They said they planned to "share parenting" of their two children. News of the split comes nine months after a car crash outside Mr Woods' Florida home set off revelations that he had been cheating on Ms Nordegren.
BBC golf correspondent Iain Carter says that golf insiders had "guessed.. that divorce proceedings have been underway for quite some time".
"Woods has been a rather more distracted figure than the one we have been used to seeing on the golf course, and of course his results have reflected that," Carter said.

Human powered car

An American engineer has developed a car that can run purely on people power and reach speeds of up to 60mph.
Known as the HumanCar Imagine PS, the vehicle is operated by hand cranks. The driver and passengers crank levers back and forth to generate power that propels the car. It can reach 60mph on flat ground and 30mph on hills.
The Imagine PS can accommodate up to four passengers and it's a case of the more the merrier, as more bodies mean more power. There's also a back up electric battery to boost power when there are less passengers.

Oju ti NEPA: Nigerians battle electricity outage with ingenious local device

INDIGENOUS light device: Oju ti NEPA

The body that is responsible for providing electricity in Nigeria, the Power Holding Company of Nigeria, formerly called National Electric Power Authority, was better known as Never Expect Power Always because of its poor performance. When NEPA was changed to PHCN, Nigerians still found humour in the new label and changed its name to Please Hold Candle at Night!

From the use of kerosene lanterns, Nigerians have graduated to the use of rechargeable lamps – made in Asia products that use fluorescent bulbs to illuminate the environment. Asian manufacturers, seeing its popularity, evolved the product for multiple uses and today, some of the rechargeable lamps which are imported into Nigeria are fitted with radio, cassette player and even fan.

Ibrahim Babangida on Facebook

snapshot of IBB's Facebook page
A few weeks ago, the Nigeria president, Goodluck Jonathan had his Facebook page set up and as of today, there are over 160 thousand Nigerians on his page. From a Facebook’s statistics I read, there are over 5 million Nigerians using Facebook every day. And, if more than 160 thousand Nigerians could join President Goodluck's page in just few weeks, I believe more Nigerians on Facebook would soon join his page.

Nigeria’s former military leader Ibrahim Babangida is following the footsteps of the president, towards strengthening his 2011 presidential race. I believe most Nigerians on Facebook are within the ages of 15 to 40, and will ‘IBB,’ as he is fondly called, be able to appeal the Nigerian youths in joining his page? I doubt. When ‘IBB’ declared his ambition to become the president of Nigeria if elected, he once said 'Nigerian youths are not capable of running the country.'

Hollywood honours Jay-Jay Okocha

Since Nollywood has ignored   the need to  celebrate  our  living heroes  through the medium of the tube, Hollywood has risen to the occasion to do so.
It  recently  concluded the shooting of a movie in honour of one of the nation’s  solid ambassadors, skilful player extraordinary and former captain of the Super Eagles, Austin Jay Jay Okocha.
The movie titled “Feet of Destiny” according to our source star  Emeka Ike as Jay-Jay . It centres on the life of the ex-international footballer and his exploits in the field of play.
Emeka while confirming this revelation said, the movie is receiving finishing touches as it features  some  Hollywood stars. Also featuring in the movie are Jimmy Jean  Luis, Nigerian born Hollywood Hakeem Kae Kazim, Kira Obyron and many others.
Great move there, but is Emeka Ike a perfect choice?
