Boko Haram Promises More Attacks ON Nigerians
Nigerian radical Islamist sect, Boko Haram, has claimed responsibility for a suicide bomb attack on police headquarters in the capital Abuja that killed two, saying their target was the police chief.
"We are responsible for the bomb attack on the police headquarters in Abuja which was to prove a point to all those who doubt our capability," the group known as Boko Haram said after the attack late Thursday. The powerful explosion, believed to the first suicide bombing by Islamist extremists in Nigeria, ripped through the police headquarters car park, killing a police officer and the bomber, wounding several others and destroying dozens of cars, according to police.

Chelsea star Didier Drogba marries his long-term partner
Drogba, 33, tied the knot with Lalla Diakite at the at the Marie de Monaco in Monaco in the south of France. |
With the almost incessant scandals that emerge from the world of football it's refreshing to find that some players can behave themselves. Take Didier Drogba for instance - the Chelsea star married his long-term partner this weekend in a private ceremony minus the opulence commonly associated with the world of millionaire footballers.
The ceremony was officiated by club owner Roman Abramovich, with his team-mates Salomon Kalou and Florent Malouda among the groom’s men. RnB superstar Akon and a host of stars from NBA were also said to be included on the list of guests for the event.
Didier also flew in singer J.Martins from Nigeria.

Kanu Quits in Style!
The Lagos State Governor, in case you didn't know, is a football fanatic. He plays football every Thursday evening at Alausa with some people and every Sunday somewhere on Lagos Island. And I hear he's very good at it. Yesterday he captained the Super Eagles All Stars during the Kanu Testimonial Match held at Teslim Balogun Stadium. That's him far right in the pic.
