Video Premiere: Maga No Need Pay - Banky W, Cobhams, MI, Modele, Omawumi, Rooftop MCs, Wordsmith
The concern for internet safety is a global phenomenon, especially as those who never had access are increasingly being connected through their computers, mobile phones and other devices. A 2008 Internet Crime report listed Nigeria as number three on the list of the worlds top ten online crime spots. The prevalence of cyber crime among a size able number of young Nigerians had showed the need for immediate concern.
The Microsoft Internet Safety, Security and Privacy Initiative for Nigeria (MISSPIN) seeks to raise awareness through a social campaign that involves various projects. The social campaign, sponsored by Microsoft within the framework of the Unlimited Program's Internet Safety Initiative will direct the spotlight to the issue of internet safety while also providing a platform for other industry players to work together. Phase 1 of the campaign involved numerous activities, including sensitization workshops, a musical concert (The Alternative, essay/quiz competitions, appointment of campaign ambassadors and more.
Phase 2 of the campaign has now commenced, and amongst the listed activities are the Musical Collaboration Project, Concert/Sticker/Radio Campaigns and Rehabilitation Project. These will help sensitize the public and re-direct the energies of participants of cyber crime to positive use.
The rehabilitation program will allow twenty-five (25) young people who have been involved in cybercrime activities to benefit from training (life skills, employability skills, I.T., etc), mentorship and paid internships. They will serve as role models for other youth who have been wondering about their future beyond online criminal involvements.
Watch out for our sticker campaign that will present messages that resonate with the population that will best benefit from MISSPIN. One of the stickers will announce, "Maga no need pay, I go hard for ma dough!"

Quote of the day
"This last Nations Cup, being the very first time in 18 years of my career that I will not be part of the team as a player, afforded me the opportunity of knowing how critically important this game is to our collective growth and unity as a nation."

Video: Dbanj shooting ‘Fall In Love’ Video on ‘Face of Africa’ Set
Last week, I published Dbanj’s Video for ‘Fall in Love.’ A lot people have commented on facebook, twitter, forums and blogs that the video wasn’t up to standard. And, there was no need for the video. This is proof that the video was shot by Mnet for Face of Africa set. The host clearly states that it will be shown on Channel O and MTV base. So I guess there would be a Face of Africa version.
What is wrong with that Blessing babe; her attitude was bad… Or was she mad that D’banj did not pick her for his Koko Mansion show? (No Shots, just Joking) Blessing Gets Cut from D’Banj’s ‘Fall in Love Video’ for an Alleged Bad Attitude

Akon - Oh Africa (feat. Keri Hilson)
Beside featuring an African paint theme at its core, the video for the charity single will also have cameo from footballers Fernando Torres and Didier Drogba.
Fans are taken behind the Akon's "Oh Africa" music video which is directed by Gil Green. The clip also showcases vibrantly-colored African visuals in addition to featuring Akon's performance with his collaborator Keri Hilson.
"The whole aura of it is so fun, the color, the painting and the drums," Akon commented on the video shoot. "It brings out all the cultural parts of Africa you can ever think of and it doesn't even seem like a video, it seems more like a work of art that just happens to be a video. I hope you enjoy the look behind the scenes."
The video was premiered at 2010 Grammy Awards on January 31 with proceeds going to benefit underprivileged African youth. Cameos include football superstars Fernando Torres and Didier Drogba as well as 16 young music artists from around the world.
"Oh Africa" is recorded for new Pepsi football TV commercial for the brand's worldwide campaign "Refresh Your World," which is based on enabling youth to make a positive change in the world.
