“Terry G is MAD!” Soundcity Blast new issue

Terry G was one of the breakout music stars of 2009. From his publicized feud with AY.com on whose track “Pass Me Your Love” he featured, to his song “Ginjah Ur Swaggah” which created major buzz and a new slang. This year has been all about Terry G’s “Madness”, with “Free Madness Part 1” & “Free Madness Part 2” creating big waves.

The controversial musician appears on the cover of this month’s edition of Soundcity Blast, the popular music magazine is known for its boundary pushing covers including the popular “Banky W between the sheets” edition and “2Face’s Innocent/Guilty” cover.

Nollywood’s ‘Mama Gee’ Patience Ozokwor celebrates her daughter’s wedding in Enugu

The 26th and 27th of March 2010 were filled with joy and happiness as Chioma Nnenna Lameya Ozokwor, daughter of Nollywood star, Patience Ozokwor, married her heartthrob Chielozona Ugwu Ani in Enugu, Nigeria.

Patience who was widowed several years ago stood with pride as her only biological daughter (After her husband’s passing, kind-hearted Patience adopted 3 children) began her journey into matrimony.
The traditional wedding – Igba Nkwu (Ipa Mmanya) took place at Chalons Avenue Industrial Mission (Ozokwo’s nest) in Umu-ishi Ngwu, Enugu State. The bride was dressed in a beautiful blue traditional gown accessorized with coral beads. Later in the day, as she embarked to her husband’s family home in Amachalla, she changed outfits and matched her husband in a gold, black and orange traditional outfit.

The white wedding took place at the Dominion City Church in New Haven, Enugu. The bride – Chioma’s strapless white wedding dress was so gorgeous and her groom kept the elegant theme in his classic black suit. Nollywood was not left out of the mix as industry colleagues including Ini Edo-Ehiagwina along with her husband, Phillip, Mike Ezuruonye, Nkem Owoh and other nollywood stars graced the wedding. Acting and comedic veteren, Chief Chika Okpala popularly known as Zebrudaya of the New Masquerade was the Chief Master of Ceremonies at the wedding reception. Chioma and Elozona love story started years ago as the groom is friend’s with Chioma’s older brother, Chuka. It was when they both moved to the UK that the love truly blossomed and now they have tied the knot.

Jonathan Meets Obama At Blair House

Nigeria’s acting president Goodluck E. Jonathan met with US president Obama today at the Blair House, which serves as US President Obama’s Guest House- a few meters across from the White House. Mr. Jonathan was accompanied to the meeting by Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Joy Ogwu, the minister of foreign affairs Odein Ajumogobiadd and  Nigeria Ambassador to the US, Ade Adefuye.

Saharareporters learnt that Jonathan could not be accompanied by any of the state governors in his delegation because the governors could not agree among themselves who will accompany the “Acting President” to see Obama. There were also some hitches because Nigerian embassy officials in Washington DC did not send the names of some Jonathan aides and their photos on time to enable them get clearance to enter the venue of the meeting.




The meeting with Obama, which was scheduled as a courtesy call, lasted 15 minutes after which Jonathan met with US state Department officials before retiring to his hotel -The Westin Grand, Washington D.C. Obama’s meeting with Jonathan was his first meeting with any Nigerian leader since coming to office in January 2009. Today, in addition to meeting Jonathan, President Obama also met India Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Jacob Zuma of South Africa, and Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani of Pakistan.

Nigerian acting leader heads to US

AFP/File – Nigerian Acting President Goodluck Jonathan arrives to attend the Economic Community of West African …

ABUJA (AFP) – Nigeria's acting leader flies to the United States at the weekend on his first foreign trip since taking over two months ago from the country's sick president, the government said on Friday.

Acting President Goodluck Jonathan will be in Washington to attend an international nuclear security summit and is expected to meet US President Barack Obama.

"He is expected to meet US President, Barack Obama, on Sunday, April 11, for a one-on-one meeting. He is also expected to meet with US Vice President Joe Biden, the US Congressional black caucus, as well as the president of the World Bank," Jonathan's spokesman Ima Niboro said in a statement.

"The president of the (Nigerian) senate, David Mark, has been fully apprised of the acting president?s four-day visit to the United States," the statement said.

Senior officials in the presidency, including federal government secretary Yayale Ahmed and national security adviser Aliyu Gusau, "would be fully on ground during the period of Jonathan's absence, it added.

"The purpose of the visit is the nuclear summit. On the side of that summit, the acting president will have a chance to meet with President Obama and to discuss matters of bilateral interests," Foreign Minister Odein Ajumogobia said earlier Friday.

Bilateral talks between the United States and Nigeria, its fifth largest source of oil, are expected to take place on the fringes of the summit.

Ajumogobia refused to disclose details of the bilateral agenda, but Jonathan on Thursday met the father of Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the Nigerian accused of attempting to blow up a US airliner on Christmas Day.

No details of the meeting between the two were released.

Serena Williams and her boyfriend are a rare sight on the red carpet, but they looked quite at home at the premiere of his new movie. The tennis pro and rap star Common, real name Lonnie Rashid Lynn, made an appearance at the opening of Date Night at the Ziegfeld Theatre in New York.

And Serena cut an imposing figure in towering heels, dwarfing her 38-year-old partner, who plays Detective Collins in the new comedy. She even took to Twitter to mention the heels, which boosted her frame several inches above that of her partner

The Wimbledon champion tweeted: 'Wearing the highest heels ever crazy!!!' Miss Williams matched her heels with an understated, long-sleeved LBD, complete with a navy blue Alexander McQueen waistcoat and her hair cut into a stylish fringe.

While Common wore a striped shirt with a grey tie, cardigan and trainers and a pair of dark blue jeans.

The rap star has carved out a successful acting career for himself over the last few years taking on roles in films such as Smokin' Aces and American.
