Genevieve Nnaji On Oprah’s, “The Most Famous People in the World” Show!

When Genevieve Nnaji stormed the Nigerian movie industry, she changed the face of Nollywood. Fans from children to adults all over Africa wants a taste of her movie. I myself would go to a movie store and check out for her latest movies to watch. No doubt, shes the best star ever out from Nollywood.

Oprah Winfrey was on a mission to educate her audience on the BIG stars beyond Hollywood. Today, she aired a show on “The Most Famous People in the World.” Bollywood’s Abishek Bachan and Aishwarya Rai-Bachan were dubbed the most famous couple in the world with over five billion fans.

Argentina’s Polo Nacho Figueras made the “One of the Most Handsome Men in the World” list while Chen Yu Le aka “Chinese Oprah” with over 140million viewers per day also made an appearance. We would have loved for Oprah to give Africa’s BIG stars a bit more time with an actual sit down feature on the show. It didn’t happen. She did, however, give a nod to Africa/Nigeria’s Nollywood Actress Genevieve Nnaji, Africa’s most famous film star in the world. Congratulations to Genevieve for the mention on Oprah!

Megan Fox is a Thief!

I just read an interview by Megan Fox. She states that she had once or twice been arrested for shop lifting in walmart. She is my favorite Hollywood actress and I believe every one of us in life must have done something wrong. Look at this babe, ride on! I enjoy all ya stuffs!

The actress has revealed how, during her teens, she was busted for stealing make-up from the Olsen twins’ cosmetics line and was subsequently banned from the chain store.

“I don’t know if the ban was for life, but when I was 14 or 15 I did get caught and convicted of stealing Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen cosmetics from a Wal-Mart,” Fox said.

“They actually took me into the court and I had two choices and I took the second choice, which was wrapping [gifts] for Christmas, which was awesome, it wasn’t really a punishment.

“The other one was they were gonna make me wear a sign that said I stole from Wal-Mart and stand outside Wal-Mart for three days.”

Speaking to chat show host Jimmy Fallon, Megan, 23, also revealed that she’s afraid of the dark.

“I’ve been afraid of the dark all my life,” she said. “I leave the lights on all the time and if the light is off, I have to run across the room to get to the switch. I can’t walk through a dark room. I’m afraid of what I can’t see.”

Very Interesting video about Nigerians

SA man to wed four women at once - BBC

A South African man is planning to marry four women in a two-day wedding ceremony, starting on Sunday.
Zulu businessman Milton Mbele, 44, is to marry the women aged between 22 and 35 in Ntlane village in Kwa-Zulu Natal and says he loves them all. The brides are to take their vows together, answering "we do" when asked if they take Mr Mbele as their husband. Polygamy is common in parts of Kwa-Zulu Natal but only the first wife is legally recognised.

South Africa's President Jacob Zuma, an ethnic Zulu, has three wives.
But it is not usual to marry more than one woman at the same time.
The four brides - Thobile Vilakazi, Zanele Langa, Baqinisile Mdlolo and Smangele Cele - all know each other.
Mr Mbele has paid a total of 33 cows in ilobolo, or bride-price, for his soon-to-be-brides.
He paid 10 cows for Ms Vilakazi, seven for Ms Langa and eight each for Ms Mdlolo and Ms Cele, reports the Sowetan newspaper.
"We don't see anything unusual about our marriage. We agreed to marry him at the same time because we love him," Miss Cele told the newspaper.
"It does not matter if we have marriage certificates or not, what is important is that he loves us."
'Making history'
The ceremony begins with a traditional event on Sunday followed by the exchange of vows in a local church.
"Marrying many wives is our culture," Mr Mbele said.
"However, what is different is to marry all of them at once. I am doing this because I love all these women."
He said the response he has received to his wedding plans has been amazing.
"Many people are looking forward to see me making history."
Mr Mbele is said to own about 100 cows and 250 goats, livestock is seen a sign of wealth in rural traditional communities.
The BBC's Pumza Fihlani in Johannesburg says the first wife is traditionally seen as the wife who "keeps the family together".
She usually commands more authority than the other wives in the polygamous marriage.
When a man wants to take another wife, the first wife is usually involved in the discussions on who should be married and often needs to give her blessing.

Nigeria 'offended' by District 9

Nigeria's government is asking cinemas to stop showing a science fiction film, District Nine, that it says denigrates the country's image.
Information Minister Dora Akunyili told the BBC's Network Africa programme that she had asked the makers of the film, Sony, for an apology.
She says the film portrays Nigerians as cannibals, criminals and prostitutes.
An actor from the film said that it was not just Nigerians who were portrayed as villains.
The Malawian actor, Eugene Khumbanyiwa, plays a gang leader with the nickname of Obasanjo, also the surname of former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo.
The film is about alien refugees who set up home in a South African shanty town called District Nine.

"We feel very bad about this because the film clearly denigrated Nigeria's image by portraying us as if we are cannibals, we are criminals," she said.
"The name our former president was clearly spelt out as the head of the criminal gang and our ladies shown like prostitutes sleeping with extra-terrestrial beings."

"I have also formally written to Sony Pictures Entertainment, the company that produced this film, demanding an unconditional apology for this unwarranted attack on Nigeria's image," she added.
She also said she had asked them to review the film with a view to remove "all offending portions that injured our image as a nation".
Ms Akunyili said said Nigeria was now hitting back with a policy of "rebranding", after allowing the international community to define the country based on the behaviour of "[a] few criminals". BBC

It has taken a while but it is finally done. Africa’s pop royalty, 2face Idibia has finally signed a deal with UK based Vanquish to facilitate the international release of his current album, The Unstoppable. Over months of negotiation and fine-tuning of operation details between the artiste, Hypertek and Vanquish Music Group, an agreement has finally been reached and all necessary documents signed.

Kanye West Storms the VMAs Stage During Taylor Swift’s Speech

The first time I watched Taylor’s swift’s video on TV, I loved everything about the video. Hearing her sing, you will know she is someone who will gradually make it to the top in music industry. I never taught she will be nominated for a VMA awards. When I saw her name nominated for MTV’s VMA awards, I began to wonder if she was very good. Yes she is good. To be nominated in same category with Beyonce, You must be an outstanding singer with one of the best videos.

Leave it to Kanye West to produce one of the most infamous moments in VMAs history before the 2009 show was even an hour old. It happened after Taylor Swift’s victory in the Best Female Video category for “You Belong With Me,” which beat out Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It).” Just moments after Swift accepted the Moonman and began her acceptance speech, West stormed the stage, taking the microphone from Swift to announce Beyoncé deserved the award.

“Thank you so much!” Swift began. “I always dreamed about what it would be like to maybe win one of these some day, but I never actually thought it would have happened. I sing country music so thank you so much for giving me a chance to win a VMA award.”

Before she could continue, West broke in. “Yo Taylor, I’m really happy for you, I’ll let you finish, but Beyoncé has one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time!” Kanye shouted to a mortified Swift and the speechless audience. And as quickly as he ran onstage — MTV cut away to show Pink applauding Taylor, and when they flashed back to Swift, West already had the mic in his hand — he was off, leaving a shocked Swift in his wake.

Is this romantic?

Wow, look at Caster now!

It's been a week of change for Caster Semenya, the South African runner at the center of a gender controversy at last month's world track championships. First, one of her South African coaches quit the team in shame for not telling Semenya that she was being subjected to gender tests. (Semenya had thought she was taking a doping test.) Then, Semenya appeared on the cover of South Africa's You magazine with a complete makeover designed to silence critics who insist she is a man.

For the shoot Semenya sported a less ambiguous hair style, a designer black dress, jewelry, makeup and nail polish. Despite what you think about the whole situation, it's safe to say that this is the first time that Semenya has truly looked like an 18-year old woman.
She says she likes the look too. Semenya told the BBC:
"I'd like to dress up more often and wear dresses but I never get the chance.
I am who I am and I'm proud of myself."
Let's hope this is what she wants though.
Nothing Semenya has done in the past month has suggested that she likes to wear dresses, get manicures and let down her hair. After the controversy broke, she kept her cornrows, wore baggy clothes and pounded her chest in victory like a college football cornerback. When she returned to her hometown, she was dressed the same way. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that. That seemed to be Semenya's natural inclination. This feels forced.
Hopefully I'm wrong. But if Semenya was pressured to do this to silence her critics, then this is a sad story rather than one of retribution. The opinions of a few jealous coaches shouldn't have an effect on how an 18-year old carries herself. If Semenya wants to wear dresses then she should. But if she wants to run around in track suits, what's the problem with that?
